What is an ESD?
An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government created by voters in an area to fund fire protection, emergency medical services, emergency rescue and first responder services. More than 300 districts are operating in Texas, and there are currently 12 ESDs in Fort Bend County. Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 10 (the District) was created at an election on May 4, 2024 to operate in the Fairchilds area of Fort Bend County, and commenced operating on June 27, 2024.

The District is governed by a Board of Emergency Services Commissioners consisting of five (5) appointed members, who manage and supervise the affairs of the District. The initial Board members will serve until January 1, 2025, and thereafter the District Commissioners are appointed to serve staggered two (2) year terms.
